Congratulations to Thandeka Ngobe on attaining her MSc Degree in Hydrogeology
Ms Thandeka Ngobe from the Kingdom of Eswatini attained her MSc qualification in Hydrogeology from the Institute for Groundwater studies’ University of the Free State in May 2023. Thandeka studies were funded by JRS Biodiversity Foundation under the Groundwater Dependant Ecosystems and Biodiversity in the Khakea/Bray Transboundary Aquifer project shared between Botswana and South Africa and implemented by SADC-GMI with funding from JRS Biodiversity Foundation.
Thandeka’s research focused mainly on the investigations of Groundwater Discharge processes in the Groundwater Dependant Ecosystems (GDEs) in the Khakea/Bray Transboundary Aquifer. Under the exceptional leadership of Prof. Modreck Gomo from the Institute for Groundwater Studies at the University of the Free State, she managed to complete her qualification in time.
In 2021 during the 4th SADC Groundwater Conference, Thandeka won the 2nd prize under the Young Professionals Category for her presentation on “ Using Magneto telluric technique to investigate a typical bedding plane Karoo Fractured–rock aquifer”,
SADC-GMI and the JRS Biodiversity Foundation would like to Congratulate Thandeka on her achievement and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
