FREE ONLINE COURSE
The SADC Groundwater Management Institute invites you to apply for participation in an online training course on the preparation of proposals to access funding for groundwater related projects across the SADC region.
This 5 week online training course will teach participants the fundamentals of how to access financing for groundwater related projects.
WHY SHOULD I APPLY FOR THIS COURSE?
This course will help strengthen the capacities of people working on developing project proposals for groundwater in the region. Participants will learn practical skills to improve their proposal writing abilities, such as how to develop viable and bankable projects that will meet funders’ requirements.
Participants should have some understanding of the role groundwater plays in water security in the region, with some background in groundwater, professionally or educationally.
This mid-level training is ideal for seasoned water resource management practitioners who want to strengthen their proposal development skills for groundwater projects and learn how to develop successful project proposals which are more likely to attract funding from funders such as the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THIS COURSE?
This training course will be hosted on an online teaching platform and will
include live workshops, where participants can interact with experts. Participants will be expected to devote around 4 hours to this course a week, to both go through content as well as complete quizzes and written assignments.
This training course will initially be launched in English; however, French and Portuguese applicants are also encouraged to apply. Participants will be assessed and receive a Certificate of Completion for completing the course, and a Certificate of Successful Completion for passing the course.
HOW IS THE COURSE STRUCTURED?

Week 2: Translating country priorities into projects
Week 3: Developing a project proposal

Week 5: Examination
Before the course starts, participants will have to register for the course on a virtual campus, where they can engage with the introductory material before the course starts.
