SADC-GMI participated at the15th Biennial Groundwater Division (GWD) conference whichwas hosted in Stellenbosch, Cape Town from the 14th to the 18th of October 2017, under the theme Change, Challenge and Opportunity.
SADC-GMI’s mandate is to promote sustainable groundwater management and providing solutions to groundwater challenges in the SADC region through creating an enabling policy, legal and regulatory, capacity building, advancing, supporting infrastructure development, and enabling dialogue and accessibility of groundwater information.
The SADC Groundwater Management Institute (SADC-GMI) is implementing the Sustainable Groundwater Management in SADC Member States project. The project is supported by the World Bank (through funding from the Global Environment Facility and the Cooperation in International Waters in Africa trust fund).
Southern African Development Community Groundwater Management Institute (SADC–GMI) hosted an orientation/training for its Board of Directors from the 21st to the 22nd of July 2017, at Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) Campus in Pretoria, South Africa. The training was facilitated by Ms. Barbara Strydom on behalf of Jeyax Development and Training, based in Pretoria.
The SADC Groundwater Management Institute (SADC-GMI) is implementing the World Bank funded Sustainable Groundwater Management in SADC Member States project. One of the primary mandates of this project is to engage in capacity building with staff from all 15 SADC Member States on different aspects, aimed at improving groundwater management.
